Mario Petrides, the Managing Director, currently provides accounting services for four Virginia registered Corporations. Four years as Financial controller of a multi store corporation with a central production facility. Nine years of auditing experience in a CPA firm in South Africa. Musical theatre set building. Currently Chairman of the Board and President of the corporation.
Raynor van der Merwe , the Founder and Artistic Director of Encore Theatrical Arts Project has twenty-five years experience as a professional performer, director and choreographer. She has two teaching diplomas in Jazz and Tap from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (London, U.K.). Born in South Africa, she has appeared in professional shows, television specials, commercials, movies, and in dustrials. Her credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Brigadoon, Anything Goes ,and Me & My Girl. Her success as a performer led to an opportunity for Miss van der Merwe to develop a one-hour show called Fast Forward that traveled to Namibia as well as Johannesburg, South Africa. This launched the second phase of her performing arts career as a director and choreographer, nurturing her command of all of the elements of live performance. The hallmark of her productions is her unwavering attention to every detail from lighting to sound design, costumes to sets and make up. In addition to teaching and managing the studio, and directing ETAP’s two annual productions, Miss van der Merwe has been guest choreographer for the Reston Community Players and the American Music Stage. In 2003, she received the WATCH (Washington Area Theatre Community Honors) Outstanding Choreography Award for her contribution to the American Music Stage production Crazy for You.
Kenneth S. Dees, Senior Systems Engineer and Computer Specialist at SSB Inc. of Fairfax VA. Responsible for the acquisition of contracts, both governmental and civilian, the vision of the project, and the delegation required for project completion. Kenneth is presently Chairman of the Board of Directors for another non-profit organization. Kenneth holds a masters degree in Computer Science, is one of ETAP’s librettists as well as a member of several community theatre productions.
Mary Hurlbert, Controller for Kinsey Technical Services, Inc., (KTSi) a government contracting firm providing technical solutions and project management support to the defense industry and intelligence community. At KTSi Mary is responsible for the day to day corporate accounting and contract management functions. Mary has been actively involved with ETAP since 2000. Prior to moving to Northern Virginia and becoming actively involved with ETAP, Mary lived in Mobile, AL. In Mobile, she served on the board of directors for a local Credit Union, was a member of her church Finance Council, and participated as a board member of the school her children attended as well as holding several officer positions with the PTA.
Marva E. Williams is a consultant for a large contracting firm. She has had experience in Communications and Information Technologies as an analyst for both AT&T and IBM. For the past 5 years, Marva has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department. Serving as a Virginia licensed Emergency Medical Technician is her way of giving back to the community.
